Christine Breunig - Program Administrator
Christine (Chris) Breunig, MS, Program Administrator, provides leadership and vision for the center team. Christine’s prior administrative experiences include positions as program coordinator for the National Medical Home Autism Initiative and several Elementary Principal positions. Christine believes that all children should have the best health care through a “medical home” and advocates for efforts that promote the coordination of community-based systems of care. Her focus is on promotion of developmental screening and promotion of medical home philosophy in the Primary Care Practice.
Kara Van Vooren - Information and Referral Specialist
Kara Van Vooren, CIRS, serves as the Information and Resource Specialist. She previously worked at WIFACETS, Fox Valley Center, where she served as the northeast center coordinator for six years. She brings a variety of experiences in education issues, collaborative problem solving, team building and family involvement. Kara is excited to continue working with families and young adults to answer questions and provide support as needed. Kara provides leadership for early childhood and parent advocacy efforts that the center is involved in. She also has a strong presence in related state initiatives.
Jennie Woreck - Service Coordination Specialist
Jennie Woreck, MSSW, brings eight years of social work experience to her role as the Service Coordination Specialist (50%). In addition Jennie now serves as a part time Social Worker for outpatient speciality clinics at CWH-FV. Through these two roles, Jennie is able to assist families of children with special needs in coordination of care within the community. Jennie is looking forward to building lasting working relationships with local public health departments, school nurses, families in need of support and most of all, children and youth who need a voice. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work and a Master of Science degree in Social Work.
Kirsten Cooper - Autism Liaison Specialist
Kirsten Cooper, BS is the Autism Liaison Specialist (70%) for the Northeast and Southeast Regional Centers for CYSHCN through the WI Autism Connections Initiative. Kirsten provides leadership for the Northeast and Southeast Autism Core Teams. Kirsten has a Bachelor's in Communicative Disorders from the University of WI - Madison. She has experience working for Wisconsin Early Autism Project providing line therapy and training new therapists. Kirsten has also worked with families in Malaysia developing and implementing treatment plans for children with autism spectrum disorders.
Shannon Kelly - Outreach Specialist
Shannon Kelly, MS CCLS, Outreach Specialist (50%) will focus on youth transition activities. In her part time role with the Center, Shannon will provide primary support to Waushara, Waupaca, Marquette and Green Lake counties. Shannon is also a Child Life Specialist for Children's Hospital of WI - Fox Valley. Shannon has a Bachelor's in Early Child Development and a Masters in Youth Development from Michigan State University.
Crystal Heeg - Administrative Assistant
Crystal Heeg, contributes to the center team as the Administrative Assistant (70%). Crystal assists with coordination of library and material resources available through the center. She also provides clerical support for the Family Advisory Committee and the Autism Connections Initiative. Crystal appreciates the opportunity to assist in the important work done at the CYSHCN regional center. She enjoys serving in a variety of ways at work, church and in her community.
